The Botlekbrug is a lift bridge in the port area of Rotterdam. The bridge has 1 roadway with 1 lane per direction for road traffic and a track for train traffic. The bridge was opened in 1955. Currently a new bridge is under construction, that is often called the 'second' Botlekbrug. The bridge will have two lanes in both directions and a rail and bicycle connection. It is extra high with two lift openings, each 80 metres wide. All inland waterways and recreational boating can always pass and the other ships pass faster.
