Cajas National Park is located 30 km west of the city of Cuenca, capital of the province of Azuay. It has an area of 28.544 hectares and has more than 250 small lakes and ponds. National Park was declared on 5 November 1996 on the archaeological value of the area and rich in flora and fauna. The Building is home to a large number of endemic and endangered animals from extinction.
