Hebilli Fortress Akdeniz Vr Mersin 40d
Turkey
The fortress located in Hebilli Neighborhood of Akdeniz District, Mersin, is dated to the Middle Age. It was built in the name of the commander Kalah Habellieh. It is 20 m long and 14 m wide. The external face is covered with face limestone, and the internal faces are quarry stone work. Traces of bonding timber can be seen in some parts. It is a two-storey building with round towers in the corners and a ceiling erected on vaults. Remains of a church, the apse of which is still visible, can be seen on the outskirts of the fortress between the cistern and the houses of the area. In the entrance of the neighborhood, there stands a small chapel with vaults and roof covers.
