"Kreuzwertheim" is located in the Main-Spessart district in Lower Franconia, Germany. The Holy Cross Church is the Evangelical Lutheran church. The church tower has embrasures, a sign that it was a fortified church. A number bullet holes on Romanesque gate in the church square are evidence of acts of war. The lower part of the tower was built around the year 1443.
