Part of the Minnewaska State Park, the Peters Kill hiking and climbing area is located east of the main entrance, and on the north side of the road. With hiking paths leading down to and along the Peters Kill, and up to the overlooking cliffs, as well as several places for rock climbing, this section of the park is usually less crowded than Lake Minnewaska itself.
