Place Champollion, Figeac (France)

The little town of Figeac (Lot) - Occitanie - France has preserved a great heritage in its medieval centre. The Place Champollion is one of the town's landmarks, with the entrance to the Musée Champollion and the sumptuous merchants' houses, such as the Maison du Griffon at No. 4 on the north-east side of the square (the oldest surviving house in Figeac, dating from the 12th century) or the Maison des Templiers opposite on the south side of the square, built a little later with even greater comfort and ornamentation in the Gothic style. And don't forget to look up to see the "soleilhos" at the top of the buildings, which used to be drying rooms for clothes or food.
