Smederevo (Serbian Cyrillic: Смедерево) is a city and municipality in Serbia, on the right bank of the Danube, about 40 km downstream of the capital Belgrade, and 210km via highway to Sokobanja. In 2002 the city had a total population of 77,808, and the surrounding municipality had a population of 109,809. It is the administrative center of the Podunavlje District.
