In 1960, Wildwood officially constituted as a church with 55 members, and 3 deacons. The church relocated to a location near the corner of Wade Green Road and Hickory Grove Road in the mid-1960’s. The worship center was destroyed by fire in 1980, but quickly restored. In 1984, a new worship center was constructed and dedicated. Shortly thereafter, church membership grew past 700. In 1989, the church relocated to its present property – an 18.5 acre tract – and constructed an 800 seat auditorium and 2 education wings. Growth in the church continued, facilities were added and updated, and additional land was purchased – a 15.5 acre former horse farm including a 20,000 square foot barn
