A 400' aerial view from the top of Badger Mountain (elev. 5,019') north of Yreka, California. The mountain is easily accessible from nearby roads & had a decent view of the Shasta Valley towards Mt. Shasta, Black Butte, Mount Eddy, & all of Yreka itself. To the north one can see Cottonwood Peak, nearby Riverview, Black Mountain, & Paradise Craggy w/ Interstate 5 streaking across from below. Goosenest, Willow Creek Mountain, & The Whaleback are also visible. Mt. Shasta had a large lenticular UFO cloud formation hovering around the summit the entire day, growing into multiple pancake layers at times. I wasn't the only one who witnessed the formations (January 22, 2023) as a time lapse can be seen here: https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2023/01/26/lenticular-cloud-california-mount-shasta/
Such lenticular formations are common around the peak & can also be found around a number of prominent volcanoes around the world.
