Portinho da Areia do Norte Beach is a privileged place to contemplate, in the distance, the Berlengas Nature Reserve.

The small sandy area is located in a cove and to the north of this, there is the Papôa Peninsula, known for the existence of a peak of large waves in its immediate proximity.

It was on this beach that the victims of the shipwreck of the ship San Pedro de Alcântara of the Kingdom of Spain were buried on February 2, 1786.
