After Gushan Elementary School’s relocation into a new campus in 2001, its old site became an idle space. The Chishan Town Council for the Promotion of a Commercial District took over its management in September 2006.

The council worked hard to put together local societies and cultural workers to promote LOHAS living style in Cishan. Now, the building has been converted into one that has great historical and artistic value for the Chishan area. It is not only the collective memory of the local people, but also a park for recreation. The park offers bicycle rental services, which enables busy urban people to slow down their pace and enjoy art in a historical setting.
