Doves for the International Day of Peace, Ariana Park, Geneva, Switzerland
Geneva, Switzerland

Taken from the Ariana Museumwebsite: https://www.musee-ariana.ch/fr/expositions/mur-murs-jacques-kaufmann-2019

Two-thousand and twenty-two was marked by the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, which is still ongoing. Students from the Pierrefleur School, which benefits from special education provided by Foundation de Verdeil in Lausanne, came together to send a peaceful message on the occasion of the International Day of Peace on the 21 September 2022.

A swarm of doves painted with white clay has taken flight the wall of artist Jacques Kaufmann in the Ariana Park. A few steps from the UN, the ICRC headquarters and the Russian Permanent Mission, this ephemeral action will fade away with the weather, like the fragile peace that shatters if humans do not look after it.

The instalation was removed spring 2023.
