MECIPT
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
MECIPT stands for "Machine for Electronics Computing Timisoara Polytechnic Institute, a research center at the Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara, which set up in 1961, MECIPT-1, the first electronic computer built in a university in Romania and CIFA- the second in country after the Institute of Atomic Physics Bucharest-Magurele.
Its design started in 1956 by a team led by Joseph Kaufmann, William and Basil Loewenfeld Baltac (and I. Munteanu, Herbert Hartmann, Dan Farcas, M. Fildan) and was completed in 1961.
the Art Museum in Timisoara is situated in a nice palace in Piata Unirii (that requested some 25 years to get all the repairs done).
There are a few permanent art collections and of course temporary ones.
Now I was interested by the Juliul Podlipny exhibition and one reagrding the evolution of communication (De la primele scrieri la multimedia). While the communication I could photograph, the Podlipny and the European art collection were off limits in spite of the payed fee for taking pictures (and the unpleasant discussions regarding with some floor curators who bothered me while taking the pictures - this time was the second time, some years ago while I was using 350D plus 18-55 rectilinear, I tryed to take pictures but out of the 38 pics I had to take due to the curator-nagging I missed some, so from the 11 rooms I did shot nothing was usable :( )
