Around the sixteenth century the fortified abbey, residence of the Clergy and of the Great Masters of the military orders that had their settlement in Montañana was constructed.
It was a set of outbuildings with two heights and covered with stone slabs. At the end of the twentieth century the deterioration of the construction was such that its recovery was not feasible. It was therefore decided to demolish the abbey and consolidate it as a ruin, respecting as many structures as possible. Thus, among the preserved remains are a bread oven and several arches of the main façade where you can see pieces decorated with shields and inscriptions.
