Skye is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides. While in Speyside an occasional shovel of peat is used to dry and smoke the malt in the Hebrides the use a whole lorry load of peat. This gives a very smoky, distinctive and extremely complex flavour and taste to the Island whiskies. The Talisker is a really enjoyable Island whisky.
