After a week of meetings and socializing with my colleagues at the IVRPA Conference in Las Vegas, I was ready for some peace and quiet. So I drove north of the Grand Canyon and up to the Kaibab Plateau, a few miles along a gravel road, then a dirt road, wheel tracks, and over the pine needles to this peaceful spot. I spent four days here and never saw a person, my only company was an endemic Kaibab squirrel.
