It is in the borders of Ovabaşı Neighborhood of Anamur district, Mersin. We reach the cave by going about 100 steps downwards. The cave, the approximate area of which is 500 square meters, has breathtaking examples of stalactites and stalagmites. The thickest ones of these are thought to be about 20,000 years old. It has three sections: the cure section, the peace section and the wishing well. The average pressure within the cave is 761-762 mm, temperature is 18 degrees Celsius, and relative humidity is 80%. The temperature does not vary depending on the seasons. It is locally believed that respiration in the cave cures asthma, which is why the cave is called the ‘Asthma Cave’.
