The Madrasah located in downtown Tarsus District, Mersin, was built in 1557 during the rule of Kubat Pasha. One of the scholars trained in this madrasah, where famous scholars of Fiqh trained in the past, was Mustafa Tarsusi. The madrasah was given to the homeless as a shelter, and until recently, it was used as a museum.
