Der Olympiasee wird in der „Kleiner Olympiasee“ (westlich 1,4 Hektar) und „Großer Olympiasee“ (östlicher Teil, 7,0 Hektar) unterschieden. Der See ist durchschnittlich 1,3 Meter tief und wird durch Wasser gespeist, das bei Regen von den Dächern durch Rohrleitungen gesammelt wird. Der Olympiasee ist auch eine wichtige Zwischenstation für Zugvögel.
