Piha Beach is on the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, It is about an hour's drive from Auckland and a great place to go for the day; good walks, beaches and the dramatic Kitekite falls nearby. Piha is known for Lion's Rock which sits in the middle of the beach (seen in the distance in this panorama).
