Room 03 - Painting and Sculpture

The history of Misericórdia do Porto can be read through the important artistic heritage that the institution has brought together over time and of which a small part is presented here. Most of the painting and sculpture works that make up this exhibition nucleus date from the 16th to the 18th centuries, signed by artists who marked the national or regional artistic panorama, or of unknown authorship. His study - which is a work in progress, capable of updating and deepening - helps to recognize in each piece the styles of the period, the influences they received and the role that each object plays in the context of art history.
