In der Eingangshalle der Schellenberger Eishöhle, der Josef-Ritter-von-Angermayer-Halle, steht man auf einem rund 30 Meter dicken Eisblock. An schillernden Eiswänden vorbei führt eine Holztreppe in die Fuggerhalle, dem tiefsten Punkt der Führung, gut 55 Meter unter dem Höhleneingang. Untersuchungen haben ergeben, dass das Eis hier unten etwa 3000 Jahre alt ist. Die Eismassen der größten Eishöhle Deutschlands werden auf 60.000 Kubikmeter geschätzt. Durch 30 m dicke Eisschichten führt der Weg in die tiefer gelegene Eishallen mit "Eismandl", Eisfahnen und Eisfällen. Die Führung erfolgt mit Karbidlampen, die von den Besuchern getragen werden.
