In June 2000, the Taipei County Government officially designated it as a historical site. When the Shell Company felt that it could not effectively preserve such a historic landmark, the Company officially donated it to the local cultural group, the Tamsui Culture Foundation, on December 31, 2000.

The designation of the Former Warehouse of British Case & Company as a historical site is a true footnote of Tamsui's glorious history of the past hundred years.
