The Vismarkt looks actually like a wide bridge over the Oudegracht where, as the name suggests, fish was traded in earlier centuries. That is long past. In recent decades, the Vismarkt was better known for it's stamp market on Saturdays. This also is coming to an end: "Daddy, what is a stamp?"
