There was a time when farm animals got nearly equal lodging as their owners. Walking through the Bories Village just outside of Gordes, France, you can see that this was the case.
Built sometime between the 7th and 18th centuries, (or possibly throughout that period), this village is a chance to step back in time and get a glimpse of what early agrarian life was like. Of particular interest is the building style in that no mortar was used. This explains why the buildings have survived so well - no mortar means no contration and expansion of the building materials which then keeps the structure sound.
Considering how many sights and sounds are contending for your time in Provence, this is certainly one to include.
