Granite Peak fire lookout (site)

View from just south of the true summit of Granite Peak (elev. 8,091') in the Trinity Alps Wilderness north of Weaverville, California.  Here one can see nearby Red Mountain & Middle Peak in the Red Trinities w/ a large fog inversion layer covering Trinity Lake below.  Views of Mt. Shasta, Lassen Peak, Monument Peak, & the White Trinities.  A fire lookout was established here since at least 1931 but it is long gone now.  At least two foundation mounts occupy the summit area w/ this set here having an engraved date of September 12, 1941.
