Bucaco, Forest and Palace

From a very early age, this somewhat mysterious and magical environment impressed me. The Palácio do Buçaco is an outstanding work of art, along with the various buildings that compose it. Within the theme of revivalist styles from the time of romanticism, the Palacio do Buçaco has (in my view) a sculptural quality and a richer composition than that of the Germanic schloss style of the Pena Palace. The forest and its paths always left me confused, more like a labyrinth, with very little interpretation in the place. But when searching, I understood better why its configuration. The fact is that this Way of the Cross, in addition to being composed of 20 steps that tell of Jesus 'imprisonment and passion in Jerusalem, it is built on the scale of Jesus' martyrdom itinerary, which makes it unique. Hence the sinuosity of its path. Here is a lovely day, with a mix of walking and exploration, and several visits.
