New Bullards Bar Dam

The New Bullards Bar Dam is located in the Gold Rush Country in Yuba County, California.  The dam itself is a concrete arch dam constructed in 1969 & currently stands at 645 feet (197 meters), making it the fifth highest dam in the United States (the Oroville Dam is located nearby at #1).  Behind it the North Yuba River is dammed at New Bullards Bar Reservoir & previous dams made in 1899, 1900, & 1922 formerly occupied this location.  Directly below the large cascading spillway, one can see the etched ruins of the 1900 dam.  The site remains fairly impressive as the Marysville Road spans across the dam.
