Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox statue [2]

Two large statues of Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox, folklore figures in lumberjack history on display at the Trees of Mystery redwoods south of Crescent City, California.  They are both built from stucco, wood beams, and chicken wire.  The original Bunyan statue was destroyed by rain in 1946 w/ the current one built in 1961.  It has a weight of 30,000 pounds & height of 49 feet and two inches w/ his axe at 27 feet in length.  The current Babe statue was built in 1950 though its head fell from a storm in 2007 & has since been replaced.  Babe also has a weight of 30,000 pounds & a height of 35' to the horn tips.
