Burgh Island and its causeway is a fascinating spot for a few hours relaxation on the Devon beaches. On the island itself is the Pilchard Inn was built in 1336 and was the hub for the local fishing industry in its time. A sea Tractor conveys guests across the tidal bar when swimming would otherwise be required!! On the Island is also an art decor hotel built in the 1930's which replaced previous hotels on the site.
