The Cap de Creus

The Cap de Creus is a peninsula at the eastern end of the pyrenees, sort of the last summit of this mountains and the easternmost point of spain. It consists mostly of tafoni-eroded rocks with scarse plant cover and an extremely variegated geology. You find there bizarre figures, large mica crystals, thick quartz veins, small caves and much more, all surrounded by crystal clear turquoise coves.

The landscape is so unfamiliar that 1970 the film "The Light at the Edge of the World" was shot there, which is set in patagonia. The panorama was shot in exactly the same place where the film-lighthouse was then.
