Sagunto Castle is situated on a hill which is the last spur of the Sierra Calderona. It occupies an area of about 800 meters long in direction East to West. Its location allows you to control a large expanse of territory, making it a strategic location for the Defense throughout its history. It was declared a national monument in 1931.The Sagunto Roman Theatre dating back to the 1st century and was the pioneer in leading the list of national monuments in Spain.
