Reconstructed city square of Vuk Stefanovic Karadzic in Loznica was opened in December 2009. Reconstruction of the central square and establishing of a circular traffic flow resolved a longstanding problem of traffic jams in Loznica and allows better links between the main and regional roads in the city. Reconstruction operations began on 7th September 2009 and pavements and sidewalks have been completely replaced in next two months; underground utility infrastructure was rebuilt and the first public toilet in town was built. After the formal start of the traffic, the first to drove through the square were owners of the old-timers from Loznica and several other Serbian cities and towns.
