Claonaig Ferry Terminal

A Lochranza to Claonaig ferry service across the Kilbrannan Sound was established in 1972. The 30-minute journey links the Kintyre peninsula with Lochranza near the northern tip of the Isle of Arran. In late 2016 the link was provided with a new ferry. MV Catriona is powered by a combination of traditional diesel power and electric battery energy. The hybrid system reduces fuel consumption by more a third.
