Aspazijas Boulevard, as one of the components of the boulevards ring, was laid in 1858 during the demolition of the city walls. The Boulevard is laid along the City Canal and the park at the Latvian National Opera. Barona Street is one of main streets of the city, running from the Old Town to the new part of the city.
