Spindle Cave [1]

Spindle Cave is located south of Medicine Lake, California.  It is a short lava tube only a couple hundred feet in length.  It has a small crawlway upper entrance along w/ two skylights, this view taken from the bottom skylight w/ mats of moss at the bottom.  There is some stooping & crawling involved to explore the entire thing.  There is a unique pillar just above this skylight opening similar to nearby Valentine Cave in Lava Beds National Monument.  Going opposite the skylight, it is low stooping on sharp aa rock as the cave ceiling drops to a low lava seal.
