Entrance to Karla Caves
India

Karla Caves are Buddhist rock-cut caves in Pune district in Maharashtra in Western India. Dating back to 1st century BCE the cave complex is amoung the oldest in India. Outside the cave entrance is the the Ekvira Aai Temple, a sacred spot for the Koli community of Maharashtra.
