Frying Pan Lake

A view of Frying Pan Lake in the Marble Mountain Wilderness west of Fort Jones, California.  There are four lakes in the region, three of these are in close proximity at the top of the cirque.  These lakes are a popular access area as well as the nearby Marble Valley.  From the air, the lake resembles the shape of a frying pan, hence the name - though I might say it looks more tadpole (of which I saw in the lake) or sperm-shaped.
