Tanzlinde Limmersdorf, Markt Thurnau Die Limmersdorfer Tanzlinde ist eine Sommerlinde. Vermutlich im Jahr 1686 gepflanzt, ist sie die älteste der oberfränkischen Tanzlinden. Bei einer Höhe von 18 m beträgt ihr Stammdurchmesser ca. 1,30 m, ihr Stammumfang ca. 4 m. Die Krone hat einen Durchmesser von etwa 13 m. Die Tanzfläche und das Musikantenhäuschen ruhen in 3 m Höhe auf 8 Sandsteinsäulen. Die "Tanzbruck" dieses Naturdenkmals wird nur zur Kirchweih mit Brettern belegt und mit einer Stiege versehen. Betanzt wird sie seit 1729 - und zwar als einzige aller Tanzlinden ununterbrochen. Die typisch fränkische Kirchweih findet in einem einmaligen sandsteingeprägten Ensemble, dem "Plootz", in ganz besonderem Ambiente statt. 2015 wurde die Limmersdorfer Kirchweih in das bundesweite Verzeichnis des immateriellen Kulturerbes aufgenommen.
