Omaha Cove, Leigh, Auckland Region, New Zealand

Leigh is a small coastal community in the north of the Auckland Region of New Zealand. It lies on the west side of Omaha Cove, a small inlet within Omaha Bay to the south of Cape Rodney. It is most noted for being the nearest town to Cape Rodney-Okakari Point Marine Reserve surrounding Goat Island. The reserve, the first of its type in New Zealand, is also the location for the University of Auckland's Marine Laboratory. [Wikipedia]

More About Northland

Auckland is the commercial capital of New Zealand but anything to the North can be considered "Northland". Preferred destination for tourists and workers alike when surf, sand, diving and fishing is involved. It has a solid rural base of Dary, Beef and Sheep as well as horticulture and wineyards. Whangarei is the regional city on the way up to Cape Reinga at the northernmost tip of the island.
