Paraty Culture House Câmara Torres

Paraty Culture House is a cultural site dedicated to promote cultural events, exhibitions and workshops situated at Paraty's historical downtown. The building was erected during the Brazilian colonial era and refurbished to be a reference place for the people.

Paraty is one of the well preserved samples of colonial cities in Brazil. During the 18 century Paraty was an important gold export harbour, the final destination of the "Real Route" that used to link the ocean to the Minas Gerais gold mining towns like Ouro Preto and Mariana. Today Paraty is an important touristic and cultural destination in Rio de Janeiro state.
