Retezat Mountains are some of the most beautiful mountains in Carpati, made famous by the glacier-sculpted landscapes and by the many (80+) glacial lakes that are to be found here.

Peleaga is the tallest peak in the Retezat Mountains (2509 m) and seventh in Romania.
