Saltwell Park

Saltwell Park is located in the heart of Gateshead in the North East of England and is one of Britain's finest examples of a Victorian Park. It has been awarded many prestigious awards including Britain's Best Park in 2005.

Opened to the public in 1876, the Park is steeped in history and has recently undergone an amazing £10 million transformation that has seen it restored to all its former splendour.

Within its 55 acres of landscapes, woodland and ornamental gardens are public sports facilities, a refreshment house, a lake, play areas, bowling greens, an animal house, an education centre and a maze. Central to the Park is Saltwell Towers, a Grade II listed building.
