A view of Shadow Lake in the Marble Mountain Wilderness west of Fort Jones, California.  There are four lakes in the region, three of these are in close proximity at the top of the cirque.  These lakes are a popular access area as well as the nearby Marble Valley.  Shadow Lake is at the top of the cirque in a cleft, access is via an offshoot trail from the Pacific Crest Trail.  In the distance, one can see Marble Mountain & Black Marble Mountain w/ karst bedrock spanning down into the valley.
