Square Tower, Old Portsmouth, England
Located close to the entrance of Portsmouth Harbour, the Square Tower was constructed in 1494, during the reign of Henry VII, to help defend the naval base. It has been used as the home of the local Governor, as a semaphore signalling tower and as a gunpowder store.
