St Laurence's Church Altar

St Laurence church is the oldest building in Slough. It was built in the 12th century out of mainly flint. The famous astronomer Sir William Herschel who discovered Uranus was buried inside, under the steeple floor in 1822. Because of Herschel's links to the church a special commemorative stain glass window was installed in 2001.
