Stone crusher at Naas Kalksteingruver marble mine

The old stone crusher at Naas Kalksteingruver is no longer in industrial use. As the mine was abandoned, the mine owner now uses the equipment sporadically for own private use.

 

When the mine was active, the crushed marble stone would be sent into the hole in the ground, as seen on the right bottom side of the machine. Where it would fall tens of meters down to a cave below, and a front loader would load the marble sand onto trucks for transport to the docks.
