This is the beach front of Chalkida town. It is well known across the world because of the tide effect which is quite unique in that the waters here travel south for 6 hours and north for another 6 hours and this keeps on repeating since we first became aware of this effect. The beachfront is filled with tavernas and cafeterias of all sorts and it is a place well visited by tourists but mainly from Athens.
