The Church of St Melor, Linkinhorne

The church of St Melor at Linkinhorne in Cornwall dates from the late 15th century and was much restored in the 1890s. It contains one of the best and earliest pieces of wall painting in the whole of Cornwall. It's positioned in the south aisle and depicts the Seven Works of Mercy. Christ is in the centre under a canopy. To the right are Feeding the Hungry, Clothing the Naked, and Visiting Prisoners. To the left are Giving Drink to the Thirsty, Receiving Strangers, Burying the Dead. Visiting the Sick is bottom centre below Christ's feet. The wagon roof over the north and south aisles has some fine bosses (including a split-tailed mermaid and some green men) and angel corbels at the foot of each beam.
