Parque del Retiro is the main park of Madrid. It was originally a possession of the king but nowadays it is a public property. The park is famous for its zoos, the Crystal Palace (Palacio de Cristal) - a glass building for art exhibits, the lake, numerous statues of royalties and well maintained gardens. People come to the lake to have some coffee, rent a boat or just to hang out.
